This Vegan Bacon BLT Sandwich is so good, I could eat it every week! It’s savory, crispy, umami-packed, and so easy to make.
There’s an undeniable magic that happens when you combine crisp lettuce, umami-packed tomatoes, savory vegan bacon, and a creamy sauce on perfectly toasted bread.
For many years, I would rely on my local market for a fresh (and delicious!) vegan BLT during lunch. However, after discovering how easy it is to make at home, this is again my go-to sandwich for weekday lunches. The richness of the vegan bacon combined with the saltiness creates a masterpiece that embodies everything one could want in a sandwich.
Now, let me be honest. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill BLT. We’re talking about a whole new level of flavor here, with some amazing plant-based twists. Seriously, this is the best BLT you will ever eat. The secret is in the plant-based bacon and magical lime chipotle mayonnaise.
How to make Vegan Bacon BLT Sandwich
Step One: Gather your ingredients. You will need vegan bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, and bread. Optional ingredients include avocado and plant-based cheese.
Step Two: Cook the plant-based bacon. You can do this however you like – in the oven, on the stove, or in a frying pan – just make sure it’s nice and crisp. While the bacon is cooking, chop up the lettuce into small pieces. Once the bacon is cooked, let it cool for a few minutes so that it can be handled easily.
Step Three: Toast the bread. This is optional, but it does add a nice touch. Then, lay out two slices of bread and top each with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.
Step Four: Assemble your sandwich. Layer on the mayo, vegan bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and any other toppings you like. Add a little salt and pepper to taste, then top with the remaining slices of bread. Cut the sandwiches in half and enjoy!

Vegan Bacon BLT Sandwich
Ingredients
Sandwich
- 6 strips vegan bacon (I use Sweet Earth Benevolent Bacon)
- 3 tablespoon lettuce
- 1 roma tomato, sliced
- 2 tablespoon chipotle lime mayonnaise with avocado oil (I use Primal Kitchen’s version)
- sourdough bread/bread of your choice
Instructions
- Start by cooking your bacon in a pan on the stove. Flip it over twice to ensure it’s cooked evenly.
- While the bacon is cooking, slice your bread in half and add the chipotle lime mayonnaise, tomatoes, and lettuce to the bread.
- When the bacon is done, add to the sandwich and top with additional mayo and tomatoes (if desired).
- Close the sandwich, and enjoy.
