How to Make Vegan Vegan Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Waffles
Making fluffy, delicious vegan waffles is easier than you might think!
To create these delectable vegan waffles, begin by preheating your waffle iron to medium heat for a classic, fluffy texture. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Ensure they’re thoroughly combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the liquid components: almond milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Blend them until smooth.
Next, gently incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking just until combined. Avoid overmixing to maintain a light and airy batter.
Pour the batter onto your preheated waffle iron, filling each section without overflowing. Allow the waffles to cook for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Finally, serve your freshly made waffles hot with your preferred toppings, such as fresh fruit, syrup, or vegan whipped cream.
For a slightly crispier waffle, feel free to adjust the heat to medium-high. Additionally, you can substitute Just Egg for a flax egg alternative, adjusting the recipe accordingly.
Tips
- Don’t overmix: A few gentle folds are all it takes to combine wet and dry ingredients. Overmixing leads to tough waffles.
- Rest batter: Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes before cooking. This allows the gluten to relax and results in fluffier waffles.
- Batter control: Don’t overload the waffle iron – fill each section just enough to cover the bottom without overflowing.
