Orange Turmeric Tonic (Vegan!)
Ingredients
- 3-4 oranges peeled and segmented
- 1 apple cored and chopped
- ½ beet scrubbed and chopped
- 1 small carrot chopped
- 1 inch knob of ginger peeled and grated
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk or other plant-based milk
- ¼ cup water optional, to adjust consistency
- Fresh orange slices and/or a sprig of mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a juicer and process until smooth. If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend the ingredients in a blender, then strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding a squeeze of lemon or lime juice, a touch of maple syrup or agave nectar, or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- If the juice is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh orange slices and/or a sprig of mint. Enjoy immediately!
