Green Power Smoothie Nutritional Benefits
Spinach is one of my favorite foods and one of the best ingredients to add to a smoothie. It contains over 20 different amino acids, antioxidants, and nutrients on its own. Additionally, it contains phytonutrients and fiber that slow down the absorption of sugar in your body.
Kale is another superfood with wildly beneficial properties. For instance, it protects against bone heath, eye health, heart disease, and cancer. Also, it’s antioxidants help remove unwanted toxins from the body and it’s great for digestion. Add the flaxseeds, hemp seeds, dates, cashew butter, and fruits, and you have yourself a beverage with serious nutritional benefits.
In a blender, add all the ingredients – frozen mango, spinach, kale, lemon, almond milk, orange juice, cashew butter, dates, flaxseeds, and hemp seeds. Blend ingredients until smooth.
This Green Power smoothie contains healthy fats and is sweetened naturally with fruit. Protein-rich and incredibly delicious, this is my favorite go-to healthy smoothie recipe. Like any smoothie, it’s endlessly versatile. If there are any ingredients you prefer to swap out, no problem. Just be sure to taste as you go and adjust flavors as needed. Adding extra lemon will reduce bitterness, while extra leafy greens will help tone down the sweetness. Feel free to share how you like it in the comments. Enjoy!
